Personal:

I am a 27 year old girl, from Illinois (via NYC), currently living in Austin, TX.

I've been running for about 6 years, have completed 14 marathons and recently qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:34!  This was a 23 minute PR for me!

After years of running very high mileage at pretty slow paces, I decided to get serious and joined Gilbert's Gazelles training group. The BQ came 8 months later.

Hoping this blog will help add some further insight and organization to my running. :)

1 mile repeats at Zilker this morning.  I actually kinda love workouts like this...

Mentally being off the track is so great and the hills thrown in makes it a lot of fun :) Plus the weather was perfect!

Gilbert had us do 4 since a lot of people are running 3M Half this weekend.

1.6 mile warm up

1. 7:10 (go straight from parking lot)

2. 6:59 (turn left down hill)

3. 6:57 (go straight from parking lot)

4. 6:59 (turn left down hill)

1.6 mile cool down

Drove home and felt like doing a bit more running around the hood, so added on a nice hilly 2.2 miles.

Total 9.4 for the day. Overall, felt pretty good for running 34 miles in the last 3 days...

nice workout -- those are great splits. you really know how to put in the mileage.

i'm making my first visit to texas in march for the woodlands marathon. the thing i am most looking forward to is the mild weather! :)

you are crazy...in a good way, of course. Nicely done on the repeats. Are these faster than you have normally run them?

The problem with having a blog is the crazy is on the internet for everyone to see!

The problem with NOT having a blog is I don't remember what pace I did mile repeats at last time! I am sure they were a bit faster this time around. Big difference is that I definitely felt a lot stronger doing them.

Allie - I hadn't heard of that Marathon, but just looked it up and it looks great! It should still be nice and cool in the beginning of March.

When I lived up North, I used to love coming down to Austin in the middle of winter! You are going to have a great time.
