Personal:

I am a 27 year old girl, from Illinois (via NYC), currently living in Austin, TX.

I've been running for about 6 years, have completed 14 marathons and recently qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:34!  This was a 23 minute PR for me!

After years of running very high mileage at pretty slow paces, I decided to get serious and joined Gilbert's Gazelles training group. The BQ came 8 months later.

Hoping this blog will help add some further insight and organization to my running. :)

Went to group today to do the 8 mile fartlek workout with the plan to add on a few miles after.  I am trying to run with a group that is a bit faster than the one I trained with last time around, and they were doing this work out today.

2 mile warm up

3X3 min on/1 off

3X2 min on/1 off

5X1 min on/1 off

2 mile cool down

Fartlek miles: 7:40, 7:45, 7:54, 8:13

Since I can be nutty sometimes...I did another 5X1 min on/1 off during my additional 3 miles that I did post work out. :)

11 miles at 8:43 average.

Nice job, I actually thought about doing the same with adding on before and after, but figured I would give the legs a bit of a break.

Thanks, guys!

I Just Run - I definitely think the blog is going to help. Already, when I am running I think about how my "easy" pace is going to look on the blog!! Or, I can't call that a Marathon Goal Pace mile!!

DerHammer is definitely a star in our running group!
